Almost all materials either natural or synthetic such as textile, paper, plastics etc. do not look completely white. They all appear to be yellowish or gray.
This yellowing can be eliminated by 3 methods :
- Chemical bleaching
- Bluing with dyes
- Application of Optical Brightening Agents
The most efficient method is achieved by treating the respective material with Optical Brightening Agents.
Optical Brightening Agents also known as “Optical Whitening Agents” or “Fluorescent Whitening Agents” are dyes that absorb light in the Ultra Violet Region of the Electro Magnetic Spectrum & reimit light in the blue region thereby producing a WHITE EFFECT on the substrate.
